There's an intriguing menu option labeled "For the Open-Minded"—something I’ve never come across in the 100 Chinese restaurants I’ve visited over the years. It’s an authentic Chinese experience that breaks away from the usual favorites (I’m guilty of sticking to mine too!). Instead of choosing ourselves, the owner handpicked our entire meal, and it was fantastic. The service was equally impressive—our server was attentive and made sure we stayed on schedule for a show. Highly recommend!

This is my go-to restaurant for Chinese food in the Bangor area. The food is always well prepared, hot, and delicious. The pork belly is a highlight. Large pieces of tender marbled pork in a savory sauce. Chinese comfort food! But leave your P*nda Express based assumptions at the door. The chef, Christine, has an authentic take on her offerings, sometimes with her own touches added, and they may be a little different than typical Americanized fare. So if your heart is set on something being like what you’re used to, ask first. The staff is also friendly and the prices are reasonable. It’s well worth visiting here.

Absolutely perfectly cooked. Me and my gf got takeout and everything was absolutely perfect the meat was tender and cooked through with no fat or chewy parts. Is affordable and has big portions. Highly recorded this place

Coming from a city in which I had great food options that were all 4-5 stars, eating out here in Central Maine can be hard especially Chinese food but the China Garden is our new all time favorite stop period! The food is fresh and well prepared. She and the staff are super helpful and friendly and the restaurant is clean and bright. 5 stars for use, I'd add more if I could! This is now our date night take out pick up place too!

Christine (the owner) was so knowledgeable, friendly, and welcoming! She offered to make us authentic Chinese food even adding her own "thai chili hot sauce" on the side in case it was too hot.

From the moment we entered this restaurant, my wife and I were welcomed by Christine, the owner. We could tell that this establishment was very well taken care of. From the entrance to the dining area and inti the bathroom, this place is spotless. The service was great and the food is fantastic!! You can tell that Christine takes great pride in what she does. Our first experience will definitely not be our last! It is very refreshing that there are still places like this that exist in this world. Thank you to the entire crew at China Garden. You made our date night an extrodernary one!!

Absolutely love this place! I was worried I wouldn't find some good quality Chinese food in this area, but I was SUPER excited to find this place. The food is fresh and comes out very quick, the owner doesn't use any MSG in any of her food (for some people that's a good thing, other people that's a bad thing), and the prices are very good. The lunch plates are the best bang for the buck. Overall would recommend!

My husband has been eating here since he was a kid. We love speaking with the owner and she always makes us feel like extended family. Her homemade ginger sauce is so good, I buy tubs of it to take home with me whenever I can. We moved farther away recently, but we always try to find time to travel up to eat there as often as we can! The green beans are my favorite, and my husband can't live without the sesame chicken. She takes great care with dietary restrictions, and is a vegetarian herself, so the vegetarian dishes are amazing.
